At first glance, the Doktorvolt DV-5329-D distribution box looks like a compact construction site power distribution unit: two 230 V Schuko sockets, one 400 V CEE socket, and a cable fitted with a 16 A CEE plug.

But this model offers something more – an astronomical timer and a contactor.

  • 1 × CEE 400 V socket, 16 A,
  • 70 cm cable with a CEE 400 V 16 A/5P plug,
  • astronomical timer,
  • modular contactor,
  • inspection window for 6 modules.

The timer can be configured using an Android smartphone and NFC communication. Simply hold the phone close to the device to enter or change the settings more easily.

Where does this type of distribution box make sense?

The DV-5329-D construction site distribution box is worth considering wherever, in addition to access to power sockets, you also need automatic control of a device depending on the time of day.

The most obvious application is outdoor lighting – for example on a construction site, company premises, around a building or in a technical service area.

If you only need a distribution box with several sockets, a simpler model may be sufficient. The main advantage here is that the control components are already integrated into the same enclosure as the power distribution point.

What about outdoor use?

The DV-5329-D enclosure has an IP44 protection rating, meaning it is protected against solid objects larger than 1 mm and against splashing water.

The distribution box is also resistant to UV radiation and, according to the specification, can operate in temperatures ranging from -25°C to +50°C.

It is worth noting, however, that this model comes without built-in electrical protection devices. The appropriate circuit protection therefore needs to be provided by the installation to which the distribution box is connected.

Compact size, practical capabilities

The DV-5329-D distribution box is a good example of how a distribution box can be more than just a “box with sockets”.
